Meet Our Rescues
Roscoe
December 2019
Roscoe was the town stray that hung out with the kids at school and the folks at church. He loved everybody! He was about a year old when he was picked up by Animal Control and he sat in the overcrowded shelter for about 5mo. His home was a 6x6 pen with a dog house 29 days a month.
Roscoe was heartworm positive when he was rescued and he endured his treatment like a champ and is ready to go. He is available through Harter's Hospice Rescue.
Solly
November 2019
Our Rescue of the Month is available through Helping Paws of Florissant. This handsome hunk is two years old. He walks perfectly on a leash—no pulling at all even though he's a big guy. He's not good with cats and other small animals. He was originally good with large dogs but since he's been cooped up in the shelter he's become a little reactive. It is likely he will calm down once he's out of the shelter and in a home.
His original owners gave him away to a friend who then dumped him at the shelter. When they checked his chip and called his original owners they did not want him back.
Oliver
October 2019
Meet Oliver—our Rescue of the Month available through The Feral Companion. This handsome guy came from Kennett Animal Control and would do best in an adult-only home. He gets along with cats and dogs, has a feisty personality, and likes to be near people but not smothered with affection. At 4lbs he is a tiny guy. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion, Oliver may be just the pup for you!! Stay tuned for Meet and Greet Information.
Rex
September 2019
Rex is a lab/pit mix. He’s approximately 2 years old, about 75lbs, and chipped and neutered. He is friendly to everyone he meets and gives great hugs. He is house trained and crate trained. He knows "sit" and "back", and we are working on "lay down". He has been friendly to the 2 other male dogs that live next door, but he is the only dog in our home. He would, however, need a home without cats. He is good with the kids in the home (12 and 17), but older children would be ideal due to his size. He has been with his foster family for about 3 months and he is available through St. Animal Pet Adoptions - Sapamo.org.
Nash
August 2019
Meet Nash! This wonderful young boy is a ball of luxurious white fur. Nash came to Speak! St. Louis Rescue when his former owners did not have the time for him. We quickly realized that Nash is quite the dynamic boy. Everyone who meets this sweet soul falls in love. Nash is also quite the ham! He is always posing and never takes a bad photo. Nash is also the life of the party and has quite a playful side.
Nash is a beautiful, 2-year-old, deaf Australian Shepherd (with a tail). He certainly doesn't let his hearing deficiency slow him down one bit. Nash is a lively boy who already knows basic hand signals. He loves to play with other dogs and would love to have a playmate with a similar energy level. His ideal family would be one that is active. He is being fostered in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Nash is potty trained, crate trained, and overall well-behaved in the home. His family should have a visible fence, herding breed experience, and no children under 10 years of age. Nash is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and will require monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. If you are interested in this beautiful white burst of dynamism, you may submit your adoption application.
Sarge
July 2019
Meet Sarge, our July Rescue of the Month!!! He is a 3ish-year-old guy with a lot of energy. His perfect family would be someone who wants a pup who loves to play catch but is also happy taking a snooze on the bed️. He is learning people can be trusted but is still a little slow to warm up to men and strangers.
Sarge is available for adoption through No Time to Spare Rescue.
